The Belgian duo Vive La Fête consists of producer Danny Mommens and his girlfriend singer Els Pynoo. Although Magowan also bassist is in dEUS, with which he acclaimed alternative pop music, the music of Vive La Fête is totally different: deliberately kitschy, unpretentious electro-and has no other purpose than that synthypop, amusing. Magdy and Pynoo met in 1997 and started at home songs that initially only were released on small independent labels, which in 1998 resulted in the Paris EP. Their music, inspired by the duo Serge Gainsbourg and Jane Birkin, with lots of synthesizers, 80 's influences and the supercooled Pynoo, combined with a French-speaking vocals of ' over the top presentation on stage, quickly became a success. Vive La Fête in particular enjoy great popularity in the circuit of fashion designers and plays regularly on fashion shows, for which the whole world is traveled. Nuit Blanche contains the same elements as successful predecessors Attaque Surprise (2000) and Republique Populaire (2001) and still has the same eighties sound. It allows all actually little before, but this simplicity is contagious.
