This is a review of the 1980's Original Jazz Classics reissue of this album by Fantasy, Inc. Others have thoroughly reviewed the superb music—see the allmusic review in particular.I just purchased a sealed copy of this reissue and, like nearly all from this reissue era, it sounds superb—as good if not better than some of the 2004 and newer Analogue Productions reissues I own (perhaps because the master tapes were in better shape 20 years prior).According to lacquer mastering engineer maestro Steve Hoffman, most these 1980's OJC pressings are true analog, using the original session reels. Most of these were cut by George Horn (look for "GH" in the runout matrix/deadwax).My current favorite discogs seller of these OJC 1980's reissues is logan2z.
